The Cloud Nine Process
Our process is serious business. Our business model is 180 degrees from standard staffing agencies. We know that if we’re going to solve the problems that are so frequently associated with staffing agencies (temps who are under-qualified, under-skilled, under-motivated, unhappy, dissatisfied, etc.) we need to do something radically different. Since we never just place a warm body in an office chair, you will find that our process is much more in-depth than is standard.
Below you will find out just what goes into making a perfect match for your needs and what you can expect from your experience with Cloud Nine Staffing. It’s this process that allows us to provide you with the absolute best start to finish service you’ve ever received from a staffing agency.
Deciding if Cloud Nine is Right for You
Step 1: Getting Started
Our process generally starts with a simple conversation. We’ll discuss your situation to see if we might be able to help. It generally takes less than five minutes for you to decide if it makes sense for us to keep talking or if there is a better solution to which we can refer you.
Step 2: Further Discussion
If we decide that we may want to work together, we will have a more extensive meeting. This meeting lasts from thirty minutes to an hour, depending upon your situation. While it can take place on the phone in extreme situations, we prefer to meet our clients on-site, face to face. During this meeting, we will explain our options in detail and discuss your situation and how we can address any problems you may be facing with your current staff or staffing needs.
The rest of this process is largely dependent upon your company’s decision making process. If you decide to go with us, your Account Representative will help you decide your best option from among our temp, temp-to-hire and direct hire choices.
Working with Cloud Nine Staffing
Once we decide to work together, we will enter the following process:
Step 1: Agreement
We will sign an agreement. The agreement is designed to stop misunderstandings before they start by making sure that we each understand our roles and responsibilities throughout our work relationship.
Step 2: Job Description Worksheet
You will fill out our proprietary Job Description Worksheet. This worksheet is designed to gather information about the job duties, as well as your office culture. It is in-depth to make sure that we are finding someone who is the right and perfect match for all your needs.
Step 3: Base Salary
Your answers on the Job Description Worksheet key to Nationally Standardized Job Descriptions, which then key to the Austin market pay rates. This will give us the minimum base salary for the position that you wish to fill. You may choose to go with the minimum or you may choose to go higher; your Account Representative will be glad to help you determine what is right for your situation.
Step 4: Assessments
We have a wide assortment of assessment options from which you may choose, from background checks to a variety of skill assessments. Your account manager will help you make decisions as to which assessments, if any, will help you find the perfect match.
The Recruiting Process
Now that we have all of your information, the recruiting process will begin. While we are always accepting applications, we never advertise for jobs that we don’t have. (That practice is widespread in the staffing industry, and the fact that we don’t do it means our applicants trust us when we do advertise a position.) If we don’t have an exact match in our current pool of applicants, we will perform an extensive search to find one. While we work as quickly as we can, we believe in quality over speed and would prefer to spend a little extra time to find the right person rather than put a warm body into your office chair. For this reason, it’s always best if you give us some notice of your staffing needs. We can sometimes help with emergency situations but it’s certainly not where we do most of our work.
Here is our process, throughout which you’ll be continuously updated.
Step 1: Acquiring Resumes
We do use all of the online services and methods that you’ve heard of, but we also have a proprietary process that gives us access to applicants who may not even be looking on those sites yet. We’re also proud to say that a large number of our applicants come from the referrals of our current employees and clients. We review each resume, and those who qualify will move on to the next step.
Step 2: Interviews
Our interview process is uniquely designed to suit each client’s needs. We pre-interview each qualified applicant via phone to get a sense of their personality and phone etiquette. For those who pass this part, we then bring them to our office for a fairly standard question-and-answer interview. If they are able to satisfy our criteria here, we will administer the practical interview. This is what really sets us apart from typical staffing agencies, and is often hailed as enjoyable for the candidates as well as giving us a much clearer feel for how they will do in your setting. Those who pass the standard interview are given tasks that mirror those that they will be doing if they are hired for your position. They are placed in a standard office environment, given a greeting to use if the phone rings, and given a time limit. We interrupt them with questions and by calling the phone. If the candidate performs well in the practical interview, they move on to the next phase.
Step 3: Reference Checks
Performing reference checks is a standard part of our in-depth interview process. We take information gained in this manner into account when assessing a candidate’s suitability for your available position.
Step 4: Assessments
If you have chosen assessments, they will be the final step for candidates. This way, you only pay for assessments for the truly qualified candidates, and never waste your money on candidates who will not pass the interview process.
Ongoing Relationships with Cloud Nine Staffing
Your new staff member will arrive on time, motivated, and suited to your environment. Due to our extensive process, we almost always find the right fit the first time - but if for any reason you feel that the person we sent was not exactly who you were looking for, let us know and we’ll find a new match for you. We will be here throughout our working relationship to answer your questions, give you guidance, and provide you with the best possible service.
